I have an old LW self-climber that I bought in 2008 when I started bowhunting and it's still in great condition...but man have these stands come a long way in the last decade! I have owned and tried more sticks than I care to admit, these hands down are my favorite, for me the bigger single step is more comfortable and easier to use then even a double step, these standoffs give the stick a good distance away from the tree making them feel more safe and easier to use than others I have tried, another thing seldom mentioned is the fact on these sticks when at the top of your stick, the step sits flush with the rest of the stick enabling you to stand on the top step and stick giving you much more room, I climb trees for a living, I tried a lot of sticks, these are the best sticks I have used, paired with a stand like the .5 it’s an easy decision. I love having just one unit to carry powder and milkweed. It was AWESOME! Makes it super easy to attach my sticks on the fly. 2- It can be a little tricky to cam the platform to the tree. Never tried it with just one, doubled up since day one and never had an issue with longer sits. Very quiet and reduces those cold stand grabs in the winter. The folding seat shelf is legit, and I added a molle pouch beneath the seat to store a bow hanger, rope, compass, and grub. Wouldn't go without them now. Amazing design!! Only two complaints, because of the water jet / machining the edges are sharp and I'm worried about cutting my gear, and the seat bolt is coming a hair loose, otherwise it's bullet proof, super light, and dead quiet! Ultimately gets the job done and an upgrade over the included straps with the LW Alpha 2. I saddle hunt also. It’s a little bit heavier than a platform plus it has a seat. It does exactly what it's suppose to. I always wanted to cut off 4ish" in the front of the xop evolution as it was wasted space and weight for my style. A little pricey but a food product. I love these when the crops are up and every ounce counts! Lone Wolf Custom Gear is as good as it gets IMHO. Best hang on I’ve used to date and Iv been through a lot of them. I run 2 sticks with 2 aiders and normally fine my sweet spot around 12 feet up. Well worth the money. Everything you would expect from LWCG. Have it on me at all times hunting and scouting! I will tell you that these new stands are over the top! I can efficiently hike into the woods comfortably with my stand, sticks and pack around 15-20lbs. The stand is quite expensive but there’s nothing like it on the market and its hard to beat if you’re like me and want the best aspects of a tree stand and a saddle platform. Great sticks.
